As of 15 November 2020, the Forced Adoptions History Project website no longer accepts submissions. This coincides with the end of the tour of the exhibition Without Consent: Australia’s past adoption practices.
The website will remain online and accessible but no new content will be added.
Please visit the Forced Adoptions Support Services website or call 1800 21 03 13 to find your local support service and discuss how to share your experiences and stories.
The National Archives of Australia would like to thank everyone who contributed their experiences and research. The success of the project has relied on the courage, passion and strength of the women and men affected by forced adoptions. These submissions have created an archive of forced adoptions experiences that will be maintained in perpetuity.
